This is the beginning of the Penumbral Quartet (P4) Project.
The setting is a world fashioned off of a European landscape, with a tone similar to that of a gothic novel: Vampires and demons, undead monsters, and psychotic murderers fill the shadows, the people of the less civilized lands living in fear while the small patches of high society look on with blind eyes and deaf ears to a threat that advances on their doorstep.
The time frame is one that resembles a cross between the Victorian and Medieval time periods, where the technology is closer to the latter, but style and culture lean towards the former.
